Bittern!?

Does any one know if the bittern is still at Marazion marsh. If so where abouts and could I get a good photo with a 300mm lens. Also where abouts on the beach are the Black redstart.
For some amazing images of the black redstart see Steve Rogers Blog at www.swopticsphoto.com

  1. Hi Ashley
Left a comment earlier but it did not pick it up.Have not heard any news on the Bittern for a few days, but as it has a lot of cover its possibly still there on the Longrock Pool, early mornings would be the best time.
Black Redstarts are in the Little London area of Marazion this is where the slipway to the Mount is and along to the left. They favour the area around the high wall.
Have also found one on Tolcarne Beach between Penzance Prom and Newlyn.
Anyway Nice Blog with some great pic's and good to see some young interest.
Any questions just leave a comment on my blog or you can E:Mail me AD on my info
    Good Luck

  3. Hi Ashley

I saw and photographed the Marazion Bittern this afternoon (Friday at 3.30pm) It came from Longrock Pool, flew across the road and landed in the main marsh area.
There is a Grey Heron building a nest at the moment and you could get some good shots with a 300mm.
