Heron at Walmsley.

One of two (poss. 3) herons at Walmsley on Sunday. Taken with Canon 1D MKII and Canon 400mm f/5.6.
It was my first visit to Walmsley and I can clearly say I will be visiting again. As well as Walmsley Angie and Trevor showed me and mum around their local patch, Par. We also tried for the Black Duck at Colliford but to no avail, although dipping on the Duck, Angie and Trevor managed to get me Reed Warbler and Spotted Flycatcher for the list.
2 weeks ago I was in Lake Vyrnwy for my school work experience I got 11 life ticks during the week , these were-
Red Grouse, Tawny Owl, Redstart, Garden Warbler, Wood Warbler, Goshawk, Dipper, Merlin, Mistle Thrush, Tree Pipit, Cross Bill. After looking on Bird Guides on the Friday we decided to call into Ham Wall in Somerset where the Male Little Bittern had been, We spent 2 hours around the reserve on the Sunday but there was no sign, although I did get Bittern on my life list.
So far in June I have added 14 Ticks to my life list putting me on 125.
Also I spent Thursday with a wildlife photographer from the area. I have put his website link in my links collumn, why no check it out..... http://www.johnpower-birdphotography.co.uk/
